Week 17

Your baby has moved up closer to your belly button!


Here’s what has changed this week:

  • Your baby’s hair is starting to come in as well as their eyebrows
  • Your baby is starting to store a layer of fat under their skin that will keep them warm after birth
  • The umbilical cord will lengthen and thicken to keep up with the growth of the baby
  • The baby and the placenta are about the same size right now


Make sure to keep your iron intake at a healthy level. Low iron levels can occur during pregnancy so it is a good idea to be proactive to prevent it with pre-natal vitamins, as well as eating fresh iron-filled foods. Having a hard time sleeping? Try different positions to stay comfortable as possible.
